X.L. Jones and the House on the Hill

Welcome to X.L. Jones and the House on the Hill, an Excel-based murder mystery! In this game, you play as Xavier Leroy Jones, a data scientist by day and private eye by night.

This game is divided into several sections, noted by the sheet colors. The first sheet of each section will provide narrative, clues, and the conditions for moving on to the next section - please do not read ahead! To solve puzzles, you will use the standard features of Excel. You may be asked to prepare basic formulas, create tables and charts, and possibly even create your own data to unlock the secrets that lie beyond. What you discover here may change your life forever... and teach you valuable Excel skills.

This game was built using the desktop version of Excel, but most puzzles should be playable with the free online version. Chapter 1 is currently complete, with chapter 2 under development.
